In a weird way i find a lot of inspiration from instagram, i take some pride in the accounts i have curated over time. I have a very interesting and mainly art filled algarith. As important as it is for me to do my own research, there are very interesting accounts that have much more of a drive and passion for art and curation than myself. So why not leave it to the professionals and reep the rewards, and through that i can then brawden my own horizions. By using these accounts that do the dodiligence, i can then see the best (in their professional) opinion and through that explore them and similars. It may be a lazy approach but i am using the tools given to me whilst supporting a community and doing what i can. It’s better to see a variety of art from curators than none at all. I am also getting better at saving and referencing the art, by organising it and taking time to actually look at other people's work when designing myself, kind of admiting i need help in a way. Which is a challenge for me. Through this my uni work has been more consist, visually appealing and the designs have been much more relevant.
I like to see this method of exploration as a nudge in the right direction. The first step on a ladder if you will, a ladder i didn’t plan on climbing. But by using these curation accounts it allows for me to get the ball rolling and from that falling down rabit holes. I am trying to work with my brain whilst rewiring it, instead of working against it and forcing myself to do things until i end up hating them. A perk of this is also having a real bredth of inspiration points and niches, art and skills are transferable to other disaplines.
