Who inspires me?

This is a tricky one for me because as previously mentioned, I find it hard to pinpoint my inspiration at time whilst also being ignorant to the arts and artist. A few names have inspired me throughout the times and have stuck with me, so we will be discussing them. To start with we have a gentleman called Austin Babbit, also known as Asspizza.

Asspizza is some of the only artist im aware of that i would call a true (troubled) artist who life is dedicated to a higher meaning, their art. Austin doesn’t design for greatness or recongistion, he does it because he wants to and he would probably die if he didn’t create. Artist are aloud to live luxurious, safe (financially and physically), take their time with the art and sell it for a high price. Have a clean and organised work station, and even a good relationship with there parents; i wont stop them. But i dont always see these people as ‘true’ artists. This is a sterotype i want to challenge and have my opinion changed. I believe i see it like because that is the way i am, messy, unorganised, living for myself (not following social norms) but also challenged in many ways. But through that he has created a life full of fun, money and art. Being able to not only live but fund all your creative ambitions through your art is the overall goal, and part of what i beleive it takes to be a true artist.

I think it’s the patch work/cut n sew that has drawn me to him. Austins work is artisan and with layers, we see brand knocking the designs and copying them, but they’re flat. Literally. Austins clothes have physical layers to them and we see it, then other brands copy and do the prints in one, which looks shit.
